Basic AR15 Course

1-Day Course
$75 Per Student

An introductory class suitable for the experienced AR15 rifle owner or the first-time AR15 rifle owner. This class covers the basics of the AR15 rifle from history and development to parts identification and function. Assembly, disassembly, and common causes of malfunctions are covered. Also covered are modifications and alterations to the rifle platform (rails, lights, sights, stocks, etc.).

Rifle zero procedures with iron sights and optics are included as well as a brief lecture on terminal ballistics so the rifle owner can make informed decisions on rifle zero profile and self-defense ammunition.

Live fire exercises include rifle zero, Basic Principles of Marksmanship, tactical and administrative reloading, and various other dynamic drills designed to allow the student to become more familiar with their rifle. A long-range “fun shoot” rounds out the course.

ITEMS NEEDED - Rifle, 2 AR15 magazines, approximately 150 rounds of ammunition (NON-STEEL CORE), hearing and eye protection, comfortable clothing and hat, a folding field chair, pencil or pen, lunch/snacks, drinks, and a safe attitude.

NOTE: Students need to bring any and all tools, specific to or necessary for, field-level repairs to their firearm, mounts, optics, sights, stocks, holsters, or any other item(s) deemed critical for training.

We are NOT responsible for a situation where an equipment or ammunition failure prevents a student from participating.

We will make every reasonable effort to get you back up and running including loaning you a firearm, magazine, etc., subject to availability.

Slings ARE MANDATORY for the Advanced AR15/Carbine class.
